Why are we doing this?
You know the feeling? You just want to quickly convert a HEIC photo from your iPhone to a JPG to send it via email. You Google it, click on the first result, and suddenly: „Please upload your file“. Then you wait. And in the end, they ask you to sign up or pay to download it.
That sucks. And it’s unsafe. Why should you upload your private holiday photos or voice memos to some random server on the other side of the world just to change the format?
We thought: There has to be a better way. Your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) is so powerful these days that it can easily handle these tasks itself—without the file ever leaving your device.
Why is it free? What’s the catch?
There is no catch.
It might sound cliché, but here is the technical explanation: Most online converters have to pay for huge server farms to process your files. That costs money, a lot of money. That’s why they need subscriptions and ads.
At ChangefileNow, YOUR device does the work. Since we don’t have to run expensive servers in the background (because your phone or laptop handles it), we have almost no operating costs. And we pass this advantage directly to you:

- No artificial waiting times.
- No file size limits.
Privacy is not a feature, it’s the standard.
Since we technically cannot receive your files (they stay in the browser), we cannot store, analyze, or lose them. ChangefileNow is inherently GDPR-compliant and secure. What happens on your computer, stays on your computer.
